Each mat has a gold edging and black velvet backing. Each of the Victoria and Albert Museum items has been interpreted using original material to create strong commerical surface patterns taken from the archives of the Victoria and Albert Museum. Inspiration has been drawn from various sources including traditional William Morris wallpapers, exotic far eastern silks and various rare and distinctive artefacts.
